Company Profile.
Mission Statement:
We recognise that we are driven by enthusiasm, accordingly
our business is turning that enthusiasm into
a commercially viable product. We are continuously improving
our overall knowledge of anionic polymerisation
of nylon 6 and with that offer exciting grades of nylon into
the Southern African market. We also provide processor
friendly additives, equipment and technology transfers to
producers world-wide.
Our History:
On learning that there was only one producer of cast nylon
in South Africa in 1996, Wilbur Cook the founding member of
Advanced Nylons teamed up with a retired technical director
of Polypenco/Erta/DSM as it was called at that time and set
up South Africas second casting plant.
The business grew steadily and is still trading today, however,
Wilbur Cook sold his shares and went to Europe for four years.
Whilst in Europe he gained experience from running a plant
in Germany, then went on to run and upgrade a plant in England.
Whilst in Europe he also completed several design projects
on processing equipment for both the UK and the USA.
During this time valuable experience in processing as well
as applications was gained. On returning to South Africa -
Advanced Nylons was founded and two complete casting plants
were immediately built, one for export and the other for trading
in the South African market.
Advanced Nylons produces the largest range of nylons in South
Africa for the sub-continent's market.
The company is also providing processors in Europe, USA and
Asian markets with equipment, technical support as well as
additives.
